If you feel dizzy, hear ringing in your ears or start feeling anxious, stop and breathe the way you normally do. Safety and limits

Headphones make this easier 🎧.

What it works with: the quiet sound in the throat gives attention something to hold on to, and the breath deepens without effort. The practice helps release fatigue and tension.

Sit comfortably, the spine softly lengthened.

Where to focus: turn your attention inward and breathe with the belly. The sound should be barely audible. If the throat tightens, soften the sound.

How to breathe: narrow the throat a little, as if you were about to say something in a whisper. Inhale slowly and deeply through the nose only, for four, so the air carries that characteristic sound in the throat. Exhale through the nose too, for six, keeping the same even, quiet sound — like the sound of the ocean.
